Nairobi Convention Ms. Amanda Jerneck I currently work as a consultant for GIZ, providing support to the overall implementation of the Western Indian Ocean Governance Initiative (WIOGI), with a particular focus on the activities in Mozambique, where I live. I’m passionate about community-driven and gender-responsive approaches to natural resource management and biodiversity conservation and enjoy working with various stakeholders to achieve it.

Prior to GIZ, I worked at the World Bank overseeing environment, natural resources, and blue economy projects, and I also have experience from Sweden’s representation to the UN and from civil society. I have a BSc in Political Science from Uppsala University and a joint M.A in Political Science and Environmental Policy from Uppsala University and the University of Maryland.

Outside of work you will find me with my family along Mozambique’s majestic coast or on a small island in the Skagerrak.
