COVID-19 disruptions in ocean observations could threaten weather forecast and climate change predictions. This briefing note points out that there has been unprecedented disruptions in the ability to access the ocean from research vessels and some commercial vessels during the pandemic period. Interestingly, there has also been activity by the community to mitigate the impacts.
