2023 Integrated Coastal Management Lekgotla
The coast is a place of profound significance, etched in the collective memory of humanity, a symbol of our unquenchable curiosity, and our never-ending quest for knowledge and understanding. It is a place where we come face-to-face with the mysteries of the universe, and the power of the natural world. It is a place where we are reminded of our smallness, and yet our infinite potential.
The first ICM Lekgotla was held in September 2019 and was regarded as a highly successful and welcomed platform for sharing implementation experiences and perspectives on coastal management in South Africa. The 2019 ICM Lekgotla was also well-attended by spheres of government, academia, parastatal institutions and management authorities, with a number of prominent expert practitioners and academic experts in the coastal management in attendance as well as participants within the Lekgotla sessions and panel discussions
